We are experts in the care of trees and shrubs, serving the greater Boulder, CO area since 1988. Our long-tenured, highly trained arborists provide careful tree and shrub pruning and removal as well as many other services. We have six Certified Arborists, two EMTs, two Tree Care Safety Professionals and three Certified Tree Risk Assessors on staff on staff. Our ten climbers use state of the art ascending and descending techniques and follow industry approved safety standards. Each was trained in-house by his or her co-workers and predecessors, who were, in turn, trained by accomplished climbing safety expert, and former employee, James Melton. We’ve been around a while, but we are always looking to get better.

Who We Are – What We Believe
Berkelhammer Tree Experts began operations in 1988, with the goal of providing sound, professional arborist services to Boulder County residents and businesses. From the beginning, we resolved to send only qualified arborists to our customers’ properties. Today, each of our fore-persons is an ISA Certified Arborist; each of us endeavors to adhere to the high quality, professional standards of that organization. We believe that the best way to determine the skill and professionalism of an arborist service is to observe, through the seasons, the health and beauty of its customers’ trees. We take pride in our work, and we take our work seriously.
We also are determined to communicate effectively, both with each other and with our customers. To this end we consistently assign jobs to the same arborists who estimated those jobs. When proposing work, we take the time to listen to our customers, so that we may address their concerns and goals effectively. Occasionally, a customer will have ideas that we judge to be inadvisable; in these instances, we try to find alternative solutions, and take the time to explain why we believe an alternative approach is preferable. We understand that your goal is to improve the health, safety and beauty of your landscape, and that our job is to help you achieve these goals.
Finally, one of our goals is to work with the same trees (and customers) over time. There is nothing more rewarding to an arborist than watching a tree respond positively to professional care over the decades. As business people, there is nothing more gratifying than forging honest working relationships with long-term customers. An unexpected dividend provided by this line of work is that we’ve met and worked with many remarkable people over the years; we look forward to meeting many more along the way.
