| Jeff Hafner was born and raised in Minnesota. He developed an early interest in plants, and learned about them by working in his father’s greenhouse. Jeff attended North Dakota State and Des Moines Community College, where he majored in music, and received an associate’s degree in Horticulture. He worked in many parts of the green industries, including wholesale and retail greenhouses and nurseries, and in turf management, before becoming an arborist in California in 2000. After passing the Certification exam, he moved to Colorado, in 2003. Jeff joined Berkelhammer Tree Experts, Inc. in summer of 2004. He excels in all areas of arboriculture, and was a foreman and estimator. He enjoys recreational tree climbing, and is a top competitive climber, as well, having placed just one second behind Charley Wagner (5’th in the world) in the Work Climb at the Rocky Mountain Tree Climbing Championships in 2004. Jeff is married, and has twin sons. He practices bonsai in the little bit of spare time he has, and is an avid snowboarder. He moved from Boulder CO to Deephaven MN where the snow is sometimes deeper. |
